Weigh-In Wednesday Week 03

Hello! It’s Christmas Day and to those who celebrate it, I want to wish you a Merry Christmas! I had my Christmas dinner yesterday in celebration of Nochebuena. It was not the most health friendly meal I’ve had, but I think I managed the whole thing rather well. Go check out yesterday’s post where I live-blogged all my thoughts and actions. It was quite a day.

So last week, I had an okay week and my weigh-in left much to be desired, at least initially, for me. I lost two pounds, but I wasn’t exactly jumping for joy over that number. I had been used to slightly bigger numbers. What I have to keep in mind is that I’m not losing weight by going to the gym. All the weight I’ve lost is due to eating properly and at-home exercises. I’m sure my numbers would be greater if I did work out in a gym, but that can’t be helped at the moment. Instead, I decided to buckle down and get stricter with what I ate as well as my exercise. I increased the intensity and the amount of time I exercised. I think the numbers are starting to reflect that this week…

Here’s my cumulative total!:

That means that this week I lost 3 pounds! It’s progress, and considering the banquet I had last night, I’m not mad at all. I did work hard for that number. I resisted second helpings, breakfast sandwiches, (some) cookies, and lots and lots of bread to obtain that number. It was well worth it and I can say I made the right decision each time I said no, regardless of how painful.

I still have a long way to go. It’s one of the things that I just can not forget, especially throughout the first 6 months or so of this journey. For me, not getting discouraged is going to be my biggest challenge. I feel a lot stronger and prepared this time around only because I went through a personal hell with my last attempt. I learned so much and I’ve been applying those lessons this time around. Getting fit is not pretty. It’s a battle with yourself every day, where one loss can mean losing the war. I’m trying to remember that each time I step on the scale.

Anyway, thank you for spending a little part of your Christmas with me. Regardless of whether or not you celebrate this holiday, I hope you all enjoy your day.

Until next time,

Carolina
